Virgin Media
The big news this month is that Virgin Media have slashed the price of their unlimited 2Mb connection to just £4.50 a month if you take out a phone line with them.
At this price many people will consider joining Virgin in addition to having an ADSL connection. Use the Virgin connection for all your big downloads, and get a cheap 'capped', 8Mb ADSL package for general surfing, online gaming etc. View an unlimited broadband comparison table here.
Virgin have also cut the price of their 4Mb to £17, and their 10Mb connection to £29 a month. If you order Virgin online they give you a £10 discount too.
Of course, if you're thinking about getting Virgin, you can get digital TV with an HD set-top box for an extra £25 a month. BT Total Broadband Option 3
It's not a cheap connection, but it's good, and you get a lot of extras too. It comes with a trendy wireless BT Home Hub, UK Evening & Weekend Broadband Talk and 250 Wi-Fi minutes a month which can be used at over 10,000 wireless hotspots in the UK. Tiscali
Tiscali have always been cheap, but they've got an amazingly good bargain on offer at the moment. You get an unlimited, 8Mb broadband connection, all your landline to landline phone calls, and line rental, for £19.99 a month. You don't continue paying your line rental to BT, which will save you £10.50 a month, meaning that that your only really paying £9.49 a month for your broadband connection and all your landline calls! Toucan
Toucan have an unlimited, 8Mb package for only £14.99. The catch is that you have to switch your line rental over to them too. However, this isn't such a bad thing as they will give you free weekend calls to UK landlines & charge only 2p/minute to landlines at all other times. Visit Toucan
Be Broadband
If you really want a super fast, unlimited connection then you can't go wrong with Be Broadband's unlimited 24Mb connection It's seriously quick and good value at £24 a month. The catch is that it is only available in certain parts of the country. Visit their web site to check for availabilty.
